Before the exam room, before you get your blood pressure checked or speak with the doctor, your first experience with a healthcare facility is usually with the front office staff. Medical administrative assistants are often the first interaction for patients in clinics, doctors’ offices, hospitals, and a wide range of other medical organizations. They help people make appointments; set up and process payments; transfer lab results; and ensure patient records are organized, secure, and up-to-date.

Vista College offers an accredited evidence-based Medical Administrative Assistant diploma program that’s grounded in the skills you need to be Day 1 Ready in your new job. You will learn a variety of administrative skills, including billing and insurance, healthcare electronic records, diagnostic and procedural coding, and medical office technology. We also reinforce the “soft” skills of being a medical office assistant, as well, by emphasizing customer service, critical thinking, and proper communication throughout the program.
