Nurse Assistant Diploma (Spanish)
Vista College prepares Spanish speaking students with the skills they need for a career as a Nurse Assistant Home Health Aide. The program seeks to teach procedures in caring for patients who are homebound, in hospitals, or living in long-term care facilities. Students will learn how to interact with patients and assist them in basic care needs while maintaining patient rights. Students will be prepared to pass Texas state certification after technical school with the abilities to perform CPR, basic first aid, and take vital signs. They will also take courses to be able to advise patients in nutrition and how to prevent infections. To complete the requirements for this program, students must be able to demonstrate their patient care skills and be successful in two clinical externships.

The home health aide profession is growing faster than other occupations. The demand for Spanish-speaking home health care professionals is growing due to the increasing Latino populations. The home health industry’s growth is fueled by aging populations and the attempt to avoid long stays in hospitals and long-term health facilities. People also just prefer to have their loved ones home when they are ill and advances in medical technology are making that possible. The need for individuals to work and communicate with patients who need medical treatments at home is growing and Vista College is the school that can provide you with the proper training.

El Colegio de Vista prepara estudiantes que hablan español con las habilidades que ellos necesitan para una carrera de Enfermera Ayudante de Salud de Casa. El programa procura enseñar procedimientos en asistir pacientes que son de regreso, en hospitales, o viviendo en instalaciones de cuidado a largo plazo. Los estudiantes aprenderán a relacionarse con pacientes y asistirles en necesidades de cuidado básicas manteniendo derechos pacientes. Los estudiantes estarán listos para pasar la certificación de el estado de Texas después del colegio técnico con las capacidades de realizar Reanimación Cardiopulmonar, primeros auxilios básicos, y tomar señales de vida. Ellos también tomarán cursos para ser capaces de aconsejar a pacientes en la nutrición y como prevenir infecciones. Para completar las exigencias para este programa, los estudiantes deben ser capaces de demostrar sus habilidades de cuidado pacientes y ser acertados en dos externships clínicos.
