Allied Health Programs

Medical Assisting
The Medical Assistant program is designed to provide the student with the knowledge, skills, and techniques needed to function in the medical office or clinic setting.  Students receive education for entry-level positions in Administrative Assisting, Clinical Assisting, and general education in anatomy and physiology and other aspects of medical assisting.  The student also receives entry-level skills in computer use that are integrated in the administrative components of the program.

Medical Office Specialist
The Medical Office Specialist (MOS) Program is designed to prepare the graduate to work in a Medical Office setting and to become knowledgeable in the use of administrative skills as well as medical coding and billing, diagnosis, and procedures.  Students receive education for entry-level positions in medical office occupations.   The program offers a complete but streamlined academic curriculum, providing a sound theory background in billing and coding procedures.

Dental Assisting
The Dental Assistant program is designed to prepare students in all basic phases of dental assisting. Students receive didactic and practical instruction in biomedical and dental science, dental material science, dental radiology, clinical science, and dental office administration. During the externship phase of the program, students obtain clinical, laboratory, and administrative dental assisting experience in a dental office, under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist. Graduates will be employable for entry-level dental assisting positions in private dental practices, as well as federal, state and county dental offices.

Massage Therapy

The design of this program provides the student with the basic understanding of the fundamentals of massage.  Didactic and hands-on instruction in Swedish techniques, pathology, and anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology is provided.  The program also provides information in various adjunctive modalities currently practiced in massage therapy clinics.  The training will prepare the student to become a Massage Therapist and successfully enter the massage industry at an entry-level.  At the end of this program, students are prepared to sit for the national certification examination (NCETM or NCETMB) or the MBLEx.  Students are also prepared to take the Utah Massage Therapy Law and Rule examination, which is required for State licensure.

Business Program

Business Administration

The Business Administration Program is a comprehensive course designed to develop competence in the mechanics of business and word/data processing operations necessary in today's automated office environment.  Graduates will develop skills necessary for managing a small business, keyboarding and operating computer software applications, i.e. Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher and Internet Explorer. The program concludes with a capstone course, which is a computerized business simulation. Additionally, the graduate will learn job-seeking and interpersonal skills. Graduates of the Business Administration Program may find entry-level employment in business offices, government agencies, or any other type of business environment.

Technical Programs

Web/Graphic Design Specialist

The Website/Graphic Design Specialist is a comprehensive program designed to develop competence in graphic and web design utilizing desktop and Internet applications. Graduates will develop skills in word processing, programming, web design, graphic design, desktop publishing, 3-D modeling and animation, and Internet applications. This program concludes with a final capstone course. The curriculum additionally provides students an opportunity to develop job-seeking and interpersonal skills. Upon graduation students may find work from entry up to intermediate level positions in a variety of computerized offices using web pages and graphic design applications.

Network Administrator
The Network Administrator program is a comprehensive course designed to teach the students the skills and abilities necessary to support and maintain computer networks. Graduates will have the skills to setup and manage a network including troubleshooting and repair of network and non-networked computers. Additionally the student will have the skills to seek the CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MCSE, and CCNA certifications. Graduates may find entry level up to intermediate level job positions as a network administrator/computer repair specialist with large and small businesses, manufacturing industries, local and federal government agencies, computer consulting firms, and education centers.
